DESPITE his defeat in the 15th general election (GE15), Bersatu deputy president Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu has vowed to continue servicing Tambun constituents although he is no longer their MP.
However, he acknowledged that there are limitations now that he no longer has access to government funds.
“For example, our van jenazah (hearse) and ambulance are still in operation because we want to help the people regardless of their political affiliations,” he was reported as saying by Berita Bersatu.
“This is our social responsibility to all. Therefore Perikatan Nasional (PN) and I myself will continue to provide as many services as was previously provided [to the people].”
Faizal was speaking to reporters at a Tambun BN division and Manjoi constituency service centre event on Sunday.
Despite losing the Tambun parliamentary seat to Pakatan Harapan, PN had wrested the Manjoi state seat, which was within the Tambun constituency.
Faizal was a one-term Tambun MP and one-term Chenderiang assemblyman, as well as the Perak menteri besar from mid-2018 to late-2020. He was also the youth and sports minister in the PN administration from Aug 2021 to Oct 2022. – Feb 7, 2023
