Penang doctors win Super Model Universe Malaysia 2022

TWO doctors put aside their stethoscopes to reign supreme on the stage of Super Model Universe Malaysia 2022 Grand Finals at the Royale Chulan Damansara Hotel recently.

Thiru Umaran, a 33-year-old medical doctor and entrepreneur from Penang emerged champion in the male category of Super Model Universe Malaysia 2022 while 30-year-old fellow Penangite and medical practitioner Yogamathi Ulaganathan was crowned champion in the female category.

“I joined this competition to prove a point that personal branding is important for entrepreneurs like myself to grow and be accepted in my industry,” revealed Thiru.

For Yogamathi, she took part in Supermodel Universe Malaysia to advocate positivity and fight against body shaming. “I want all women to know they can change their pain and weakness into strength. Don’t let anyone to intimidate how you look,” said Yogamathi.

Both winners will represent Malaysia at the world finals of the competition later this year.

The teen category of the competition saw 16-year-old student Ryan Liew from Ipoh emerging as champion while eiht-year-old Chloe Law Zhi Ling from Kuala Lumpur emerged as the kids’ female champion.

The Super Model Universe Malaysia 2022 (International Male) title went to Bashir Tayari, a 21-year-old footballer, student & translator from Libya.

The international female title went to 20-year-old computer science undergraduate Oliza Khan from Bangladesh. The winners were selected by a panel of judges made of industry experts and key sponsors.

The competition was organised by license holder Ammetta Malhotra Bergin. “We are immensely proud to be holding our fourth consecutive Super Model Universe Malaysia competition,” she noted.
