PLKN 3.0 will start next January, says Deputy Defence Minister Adly Zahari. Initially staged at two military camps, it will expand to 13 by 2026.
The government allocated RM50 million, with an initial intake of 500 participants. The program targets 16 to 35-year-olds, with a larger intake in June.
Some users are confused about the age group for this program, as it seems to include those up to 35 years old.
However, only individuals born in 2007 or later are eligible, though participants can choose to stay in the program until age 35.
Several X users reminded others that those who were born in the 1990s are not required to join this program.
The government has made it clear at the end of 2023. Some users state that those who are older should not worry.
However, netizens add that this is an important program and advises for Mat Rempits and several other youths with recurring problems who are plaguing the country to be admitted too.
There are some women who are also interested in the program. A female X user states that she requested to join PLKN when she was younger but was rejected.
She then pursued other activities before her matriculation. She adds that if given the opportunity to join again, she would. – Oct 27, 2024
