Perodua ending 2020 with stable sales

PERODUA continues to stay on track of its year-end target with a total of 23,119 cars in November, including 5,027 units on the Nov 30 alone, which is the highest number of cars sold in a single day.

“Our November sales shows a slight improvement from the previous two record month we had, which was 25,035 and 26,852 in September and October respectively,” said Perodua president and CEO Datuk Zainal Abidin Ahmad.

“The accomplishment is impressive given the challenging economic climate and ‘new normal’ operating procedures. In fact, the impressive 5,027-unit one-day record shows what resilience, persistence and adaptability can bring,” he added.

With thousands of Axias (6,318 units), Myvis (6,295), Bezzas (6,224), Aruz (2,617) and Alzas (1,665) finding homes by November, Perodua sold over 195,000 cars in 2020 so far against its 210,000-unit sales target by the end of the year.

Zainal also stated how Perodua has been contributing to help local companies and helping them sustain their businesses.

“Over 90% of our components are locally-sourced, and coupled with our sales volume, this generates significant business for Malaysian component suppliers and helps them sustain jobs,” he said.

“The completed cars are then distributed through Malaysia’s largest car sales network, the majority of which constitute independent dealers that benefit greatly from the business, and even more if they do servicing and repairs as well,” he added. – Dec 2, 2020
