In efforts to move beyond the residential and commercial real estate scene, Low Yat Group established Growers Market to provide consumers with a one-stop destination that still provide consumers with a touch-and-feel experience when shopping for their necessities.
Growers Market also provides access for consumers to purchase quality products and fresh produce from wholesalers, importers and distributors.
According to Low Yat Group group executive director Low Su Ming, the creation of Growers Market came about as the Group recognises the need for society to restrategise new ways of shopping in lieu of wet markets closures during the movement control order (MCO) period.
“To accommodate the needs of the masses and cater to the changing consumer trends, we are looking to make an impact within the community through our upcoming developments,” she said.
The Growers Market, which will be located at Rivercity, will provide an avenue for local growers, farmers, wholesalers, emerging artisan food entrepreneurs and even home bakers to grow their business and expand their product network.
“With this initiative, we hope to empower the importers, distributors and especially the local farmers by providing an alternative hub for them to display and set their own product price points, thus allowing more independence when it comes to selling their produce,” she added.
Furthermore, in order to further help the surrounding community, Growers Market is looking to prioritise hiring fresh graduates explore food and beverage (F&B) entrepreneurship opportunities and skilled personnel from the F&B industry that lost their jobs due to the pandemic. – Jan 21, 2021
