PKR leader hits back at Puad over Rafizi criticism

UMNO Supreme Council member Datuk Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi commented on the PKR election and Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli’s resignation as Economy Minister claiming it saved Rafizi from a potential party purge and that he damaged the reputation of PKR’s 2025 election.

In response, Tenggara PKR branch chief Fakharuddin Moslim criticised Puad, urging Barisan Nasional leaders to focus on strengthening the unity government rather than making divisive statements.

Fakharuddin stressed that PKR’s internal election is not UMNO’s concern and warned that such remarks could destabilise the coalition, giving opponents an opportunity to exploit divisions.

“We need to respect one another as partners in the unity government and avoid statements that personally attack others, which could undermine the coalition’s stability. Such statements only open the door for opponents to sow discord in the unity we have built together for the nation’s stability.

“Puad’s tendency to frequently comment on and attack Rafizi suggests that he has not ‘moved on’ and is still obsessed with acting as the ‘Minister of Rafizi Affairs’,” he said. — May 31, 2025
