PLUS employee tests positive for Covid-19

TOLL operator PLUS Malaysia Bhd has confirmed, via a media statement, that one of its employees at its Ebor Toll Plaza (Entry) has tested positive for Covid-19.

The employee, a customer service assistant, is undergoing treatment at a government medical facility, and PLUS has instructed all staff who were in close contact with the patient to undergo medical check-ups and practise self-quarantine.

The toll operator also announced that the Ebor Toll Plaza (Entry) will be closed after midnight tonight to be disinfected and cleaned. It will reopen at midnight on March 20 after the sanitisation work is completed.

Highway users from Shah Alam, Batu Tiga and the surrounding areas heading towards KLIA, Putrajaya and the south are advised to enter the ELITE highway via Shah Alam or Seafield Toll Plazas during the 24-hour closure.

“We advise all highway customers to adhere to the restrictive movement order, which will flatten the spread of Covid-19. The safest way is to practise social distancing and avoid crowded areas.

“On this premise, our Rest and Service Areas are open but limited for take away F&B services only. The dining areas at our food courts are closed to deter the convergence of crowds.

“We also advise, for the sake of personal health, safety and hygiene, that our Muslim patrons bring their own prayer mats and for the ladies, their own “telekung” i.e. prayer gear,” PLUS said.

The toll operator also advised patrons to keep one meter apart when queuing to order their takeaway, and that only one passenger per vehicle should alight to purchase the F&B orders for the rest. – March 18, 2020
