“PN MP to lead special NACCOL meeting on rising cost of living,” says PM

PRIME Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has appointed Bukit Gantang MP Datuk Syed Abu Hussin Hafiz Syed Abdul Fasal to head a cluster committee within the Special Meeting of the National Action Council on Cost of Living (NACCOL).

Anwar also said the Perikatan Nasional (PN) lawmaker would assist in the government’s efforts to address the rising cost of living.“We have Rahmah Sales, and today I see the price of fish, chicken, and rice is far better and cheaper compared to the market price. But we need to have more initiatives, and that is why I have assigned Bukit Gantang MP to help the people by coordinating NACCOL,” he added.The Khidmat Demi Rakyat sales programme will be continued and expanded throughout the country to help reduce the cost of living for the people.Speaking briefly during a visit to the event at the Klebang Restu Public Field today, the PM noted he was concerned about the people’s complaints that the prices of goods and services were increasing.“We have taken various measures due to the rising cost of living, even though we have increased the amount of STR (Mercy Cash Donation), but it is not enough if the price of goods goes up.“We will increase, frequent, expand the sale of cheap items, especially fish, chicken, rice and so on.”Moreover, Syed declared his support for Anwar in Parliament and became the fifth PN lawmaker to back the Madani government.Six PN MPs have announced their support for the PM and there are rumours that another 10 are to declare their support. – Jan 28, 2023
