PN slams Zafrul’s party switch, rules out recruiting Rafizi and Nik Nazmi

ACCORDING to PN Chief Whip Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan, the party has no intention of recruiting three government figures, Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli, Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, and Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad to join their coalition.

He clarified that no formal approaches have been made, and while PN is open to individuals aligning with their cause, they are not actively seeking to attract anyone.

Takiyuddin emphasised that PN focuses on principles and policies rather than individuals, noting that any political shifts by MPs are subject to anti-party hopping laws.

Commenting on Tengku Zafrul’s reported move to leave BN for PKR, Takiyuddin described it as a sign of inconsistent principles, questioning Zafrul’s motives and direction.

Takiyuddin Hassan stated that such drastic shifts in allegiance from Zafrul confuse the public and raise questions about a leader’s true principles.

He noted that Tengku Zafrul, previously the Minister of Investment, Trade, and Industry, was once rumored to be aligning with PN due to his appearances with their leaders, including Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin. However, recent reports confirm his move to PKR instead. —June 1, 2025
