Why is Annuar Musa politicking during COVID-19, Puad asks Gov’t

AMID nationwide travel restriction, several politicians from the Government are seen travelling across Malaysia for both official and non-official reasons.

One of the leaders seen travelling around was Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa, and his “rendezvous” has caught the attention of Umno supreme council member Datuk Puad Zarkashi.

“Our dear Federal Territories Minister is hard at work now, visiting various places in Malaysia. I didn’t realise Sabah, Kedah and Selangor was part of the federal territories.

“Maybe he has done visiting all flats under the People’s Housing Programme (PPR). That’s why he visits other states to talk politics,” he mocked, in a Facebook post.

Umno is currently embroiled in a “civil war” between factors known as the “court cluster” and “Cabinet cluster”.

While the “court cluster” is seen hostile to Perikatan Nasional’s head-honcho Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu), the other team is keen to cooperate with the latter in the new coalition.

Puad is said to be partisan towards those who oppose Bersatu, while Annuar is seen allied to the party led by Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

Training his guns against the Government, Puad reminded the former that the Emergency proclamation and travel restrictions were imposed to curb the spread of COVD-19, supposedly with none being exempted.

“But he (Annuar) is politicking all the way. Despite being Perikatan’s lackey, he forgot the Government imposed the Emergency to reduce politics,” the former deputy minister stated.

He alleged that those who attended Annuar’s events were given goodies, despite many low-cost houses under his purview are in dire state.

“And I wonder where he gets all the money? Who is making loads of money during COVID-19? How mysterious.

“I hope Umno leaders take note of this and abide by our delegates’ will,” Puad remarked, hinting at the recent Umno annual general assembly’s decision to cut ties with Bersatu. – April 15, 2021.
