Prank of pushing groom into the water turned from laughter to PR fiasco

IN ACCORDANCE to Malay customs, a man becomes a king for a day when he gets married, with the accompanying songket assemble and tengkolok headpiece for appearance sake.

But for one unfortunate person, his coronation would involve getting soaked in cold, dirty river water due to a prank gone wrong.

According to the video post on X by 𝕭𝖆𝖓𝖎, the groom was making a pose by the edge of the water until things went unplanned where the photographer pushed him into the river.

Since the costume was rented, the furious owner came forward to complain that the accessories and costume are going to get spoiled when wet. 

Many netizens added their voice behind her, stating that it was a bad prank at the wrong time.

Towards the comment section, Adzim said this was what happens when people hire a photographer with the IQ of a Mat Rempit.

Another netizen chipped in to shine some light into the situation, stating that the cameraman was no photographer, but a hungry influencer by the name of Shaffat.

Netizen Raja Bersiong added that the costume was a stitched songket which cannot be soaked in water in such a manner. 

“Maybe this is drain water. The expensive songket shirt is ruined. It is stupid and crazy for the person to push the groom,” he said, advising the bridal company to sue and ask for compensation.

Toh Puan Saodah binti Haji Mansor with an eye-for-an-eye mindset further suggested that someone push the cameraman and all his gadgets into the water instead.

One netizen, however, felt sceptical about the cameraman pushing the client without being told. Perhaps this is staged?

“Is the current trend about people racing to determine who is the most foolish?” petaibabe wondered.

StrawberryBoyz said this was no laughing matter as the owner of the costume has to clean up the mess.

Although the prank appears to be a small matter, the video post has since garnered over 3,400 reposts and 292 comments.
