PRN peaks with Sanusi’s grand entrance and PN’s hijacking of PH song

ON the significant nomination day, national leaders offered unwavering support to their respective parties. In Kedah, caretaker Kedah Menteri Besar (MB) Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor took center stage while Perikatan Nasional (PN) supporters hijacked Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) Hoi Ya Hoi theme song.

National leaders made their presence felt at the Gombak nomination today, demonstrating their unwavering support for candidates representing their respective coalitions.

PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin accompanied his information chief Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali along with hundreds of supporters at 8:40am at Gombak.

This was followed by the arrival of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who turned up with Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor at the same nomination centre at about 8:50am.

However, PN candidates sang “Hoi Ya Hoi,” the campaign song of PH in GE15 that they have co-opted, while marching towards SMK Sungai Pusu.

In response to the hijack, PH supporters questioned who supports the penyamun (thieves).

Conversely, PH supporters sang Anwar’s song based on his campaign speech from last year: “Saya ulang… Esok kita memerintah (I repeat… Tomorrow we rule),” which was met with laughter from PN supporters.

Meanwhile, the caretaker Kedah MB is in a straight fight to defend his Jeneri seat for a second term. He will be competing with Barisan Nasional’s Datuk Muhammad Khizri Abu Kassim.

Sanusi made a grand entrance that stole the limelight of the day, saluting fans and opponents with his new symbolic copycat of Anwar’s salute that became popular in 1998. – July 29, 2023
