ProtectHealth continues backing the Gov’t in looking after the well-being of M’sians

CONSIDERING the RM32.4 bil that was allocated to the Health Ministry in the recently announced Budget 2022, ProtectHealth vows to continue prioritising the healthcare of the B40 group through PeKa B40 and assist the Government in the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK).

ProtectHealth will also continue to facilitate the ministry to provide booster doses to adults and vaccination programmes for adolescents and children aged 12 to 17 by involving private medical practitioners and health non-governmental organisations (NGOs).

As of Oct 29, ProtectHealth has successfully contributed 48% of the total vaccinations throughout Malaysia, which is equivalent to 23,576,102 doses in PICK.

ProtectHealth CEO Datuk Dr. Anas Alam Faizli stated that focus on public awareness and early detection and intervention of non-communicable diseases is very important as it will provide greater benefits in the long run such as improving the quality of life and saving the cost of treatment for the related diseases.

As of Sept 30, ProtectHealth has conducted health screenings of more than 530,000 eligible beneficiaries nationwide through PeKa B40 and over 40% have been detected to have at least one non-communicable disease.

In addition, ProtectHealth also fully supports the allocation of RM70 mil in the Budget 2022, which focusses on mental health issues, including strengthening support, counselling and psychology services, increasing advocacy programmes and boosting the role of NGOs as movers of mental health programmes. – Oct 30, 2021
