PROTON has opened bookings nationwide for its first production electric vehicle (EV), the Proton eMas 7 (stylised as e.MAS 7), with an estimated starting price of RM120,000.
This model was unveiled at the paultan.org Auto Car Expo (ACE) 2024, held at the Setia City Convention Centre, and visitors can see the interior in person for the first time.
Alongside the attractive price, Proton is offering a “Pioneer Privilege Deal” which includes a RM500 rebate and a gift pack worth RM1,000. This offer is valid until the eMas 7’s official launch, scheduled for December, likely at KLIMS 2024. The Proton eMas 7 will be available in two variant – Prime and Premium.
The Prime variant features a 49.52 kWh battery with a WLTP range of 345 km, while the Premium variant offers a larger 60.22 kWh battery with a WLTP range of 410 km. Both variants support DC fast charging, allowing a 10% to 80% charge in 30 minutes.
The vehicle is equipped with Geely’s advanced Aegis short-blade LFP battery, which maintains a high state of health (90.5%) even after 400,000 km of driving. Feature-wise, the base Prime variant includes 18-inch alloys, a 15.4-inch infotainment screen, remote control, and Level 2 ADAS, making ADAS standard on a Proton for the first time.
The Premium variant upgrades to 19-inch alloys, a 16-speaker Flyme sound system, a head-up display, and ventilated front seats. However, Android Auto/Apple CarPlay won’t be available at launch but is expected via an OTA update next year.
Proton also launched the “e.MAS App” at ACE 2024. This app, designed to enhance the user experience, will allow users to manage vehicle bookings, schedule services, and access Malaysia’s EV charging network. The app aims to provide a seamless experience similar to the Hello smart app used for other Proton EVs. – Oct 26, 2024
