Puad: “Tajuddin tooting his own horn, twisted a lot of facts in press conference”

UMNO Supreme Council member Datuk Dr Puad Zarkashi has accused Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman of tooting his own horn and twisting a lot of facts during his tell-all press conference yesterday (June 27).

Puad also suggested that the press conference was linked to the latter being allegedly probed by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

“He was tooting his own horn at the press conference. He twisted (a lot of facts). Everyone knows Tajuddin had many meetings at his home. Why the 200-degree turn?” wrote Puad on his Facebook page today.

“He was afraid when he was investigated by the MACC. There are many living witnesses.”

Puad said Tajuddin was the “same standard” as Kuala Langat MP Dr Xavier Jayakumar, Tronoh assemblyperson Paul Yong, and Melalap assemblyperson Peter Anthony.

“They are all afraid and would ‘melt’ when investigated by the MACC. Pasir Salak’s warrior legacy is worthy of praise. Unfortunately, the modern ‘living witness’ from Pasir Salak melts easily,” he quipped.

Puad’s use of the phrase “living witness” was in reference to Tajuddin’s words yesterday, used to describe how the latter had described himself as a witness to many closed-door events which were allegedly unpleasant for most UMNO members.

Puad’s attack came in response to Tajuddin’s bare-all press conference lasting more than one-and-a-half hours yesterday afternoon where he had criticised UMNO president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s leadership.

Tajuddin had also urged Zahid to step down as party president, and had spoken about how UMNO had signed statutory declarations (SDs) last year backing opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as prime minister.

Tajuddin had also claimed that some 130 UMNO division chiefs had wanted Zahid to step down from his post back in 2020, adding that there was a memorandum within the party for Zahid to step down.

The memorandum was allegedly led by UMNO deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan.

Tajuddin’s tell-all came following his removal from the UMNO Supreme Council on June 21.

In the same post Puad also slammed former Ketereh UMNO division chief Tan Sri Annuar Musa of fanning the flames after Tajuddin’s press conference yesterday.

“He was actively viralling and sharing media reports of the event yesterday. To Annuar this is the ammunition he needs to ‘smash’ UMNO,” he wrote.

“Annuar claims that action taken against Tajuddin will cause a crisis, and that’s why he had viralled and shared (news of the event).” – June 28, 2022
