FORMER prime minister (PM) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob was the poster boy of the UMNO-Barisan Nasional (BN) in the 15th General Election (GE15) that he failed to win, said netizens who reminded him of the gruesome defeat he registered in fact.
This was what most Twitter users were saying to the former PM who reminded party members that UMNO is a party that leads and not one that is led.
“Our determination must be solid, not just being passengers but rising again to lead the country.
“UMNO must lead, not just be a complement to form the government,” he said.
User @AfralAbdullah asked whether the former PM was too emotional, suddenly.
“Accept the fact that you were the poster boy in the last general elections. BN (UMNO) won only 30 seats How to lead like this? If I say you are not clever, you will get angry,” the user said.

Another user reminded Ismail that he has to lend an ear to the thoughts of the people below, the voters in particular, before he speaks of regaining power.
Netizen @izntagram added:
Kalau nak jadi ketua untuk menerajui sesuatu, paling utama kena ada telinga untuk mendengar keluhan/rintihan/kesusahan orang bawah, rakyat jelata ni haa. Yang kau, dalam gambar telinga pun tak nampak tau 😑

“If you want to be a leader to lead something, the most important thing is to have ears to listen to the complaints/moans/difficulties of the people struggling, the common people. Yours, I can’t even see the ear in the picture.”
As usual with social media comments on political issues, they are rarely balanced nor are there many people who would defend leaders like Ismail.
Most of those who comment want to see UMNO continue its current role in the government. That is one in which it follows Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in the unity government.
They are not happy with leaders who are trying to create trouble in the government and Ismail is learning this every time he makes comments that indicate he does not support the unity government.
