ONE can expect to catch a train at KL Sentral. But one cannot expect to catch Puteri Gunung Ledang gyrating at the side of the train track of KL Sentral.
However, a video post on X by netizen @kasturi2u is about to prove skeptics wrong.
The video which has been making rounds online showed a woman dressed in what appears to be traditional Malay attire associated with the legendary Puteri Gunung Ledang.
What’s more, she appears to be strutting in a weird way across the walkway.
And judging from the reactions online, nobody quite knows whether they have stumbled upon a cultural performance, a photoshoot, a rehearsal or a lady who simply forgot to take her medication on time.

For those unfamiliar with the legendary character, Puteri Gunung Ledang is one of the most famous figures in Malay folklore. But this particular appearance seemed to come without the usual royal procession, palace guards and the ridiculously long list of wedding requirements.
Netizens have much to say about this impromptu “performance” too.
“Yes, can we have more like this to show our culture to tourists?” said @subang21.

Another netizen believes she missed the Keretapi Sarong event which is an annual flash mob event where people gather to wear sarongs and traditional attire while using public transport to celebrate Malaysia Day.

Then there was @MHasmarul noting a person holding a camera nearby the lady, suggesting that this was likely a photoshoot.
That did not stop @chairmanMNC from remarking that she was a Malay version of Wonder Woman.
Check out the winning comment from @korzuen too:

And perhaps the harshest review of the day came from someone who simply wrote: “Rejected Puteri Gunung Ledang.”
Perhaps this is what happens when Malaysian folklore meets modern public spaces.
Either way, if Puteri Gunung Ledang really wanted to make an entrance, KL Sentral is certainly a memorable place to do it. And judging by the comments, she has already secured an audience.—Oct 2, 2026
