PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli has made it clear that he will continue to lodge police reports against Sik PAS Youth leader Shahiful Nasir and even PAS for making statements that can spark hatred towards Malaysia’s multi-ethnical/multi-religious community or even to indulge in scare-mongering of Muslims from voting for other races.
In so doing, the aspirant Pandan MP in the 15th General Election (GE15) observed that the theme and content of PAS campaigns thus far tend to revolve around three key messages:
- Islam in Malaysia is under threat unless the Malay voters choose PAS given other parties or coalitions such as Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) do not have enough Islamic beliefs like their PAS counterparts;
- If other parties such as PH win the election, Muslim practices such as azan (call for prayers) will be abolished; and
- That Muslim voters who vote for other parties such as PH and BN will go to hell.
“The theme and approach of their campaigns that centres on racial and religious sentiments are dangerous because they risk jeopardising the peace and harmony of the various races that form the foundation of this country,” Rafizi outlined in his latest Facebook post.

He has earlier congratulated the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) who have commenced their investigation against Shahiful who in his speech stated that those who voted for Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) would go to hell.
“This type of Islam riding campaign makes the work of PAS and Perikatan Nasional (PN) easier because they don’t have to bother convincing the people about their ability to govern,” justified Rafizi.
“Every time such dangerous campaign content appears and evokes public anger, PAS’ leaders will wash their hands even when such campaigns are carried out on their stage, at their invitation and from the mouths of their own activists or leaders.”
As such, Rafizi said the time has come for Malaysians of all races to take seriously the content and themes of the PAS/PN campaign which is skewed towards building hatred towards non-Muslims in order to get votes.
“If PKR and PH win the GE15, one of the main focuses is to enact, implement and enforce an anti-hatred legislation on the basis of race, religion, gender and any other groups,” asserted Rafizi.
“Any party that attacks and stirs up religious, racial and gender sentiments should be dealt with harshly because this can affect public order. With this law in place, I hope we can rid the politics of hatred played by PAS/PN by focusing on building the national economy and solving the people’s woes.”
Rafizi himself will lodge a police report against Shahiful Nasir, actor Zul Huzaimy and the PAS leadership because of the dangerous content of their campaign which threatens to disrupt public order at the Ampang Jaya District Police headquarters at 10am tomorrow (Nov 13).
For the record, Zul Huzaimy was quoted as threatening to “slaughter infidels” in a programme organised by PAS in Chukai, Terengganu with PAS vice president Datuk Seri Sanusi Md Nor easily washed his hands of the matter by claiming that the statement did not come from PAS leadership. – Nov 14, 2022
