Ranhill unit bags three water projects worth RM110 mil

KUALA LUMPUR: Ranhill Holdings Bhd’s unit, Ranhill Water Technologies Sdn Bhd (RWT), has secured three new contracts worth RM110.1 mil to undertake water projects in Johor and Melaka.

The conglomerate, which generates the bulk of its revenue from providing treated water in Johor, said RWT bagged an RM87.9 mil contract from Teraju Hikmat Sdn Bhd to replace old pipes in the Johor Bahru district as part of the state’s non-revenue water reduction programme.

It said the contract was part of capital expenditure works being implemented by Pengurusan Aset Air Bhd to develop the water infrastructure in Johor.

“The contract is to be completed within 12 months, with the completion date being March 7, 2021,” Ranhill said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today,

In another filing, Ranhill said RWT was also awarded a RM19.95 mil contract by Ranhill SAJ Sdn Bhd to design and build a 20-million-litres-per-day (MLD) package water treatment plant at the Sultan Iskandar Water Treatment Plant in Johor.

“The completion period for the contract is six months, March 9 to Sept 8, 2020,” it said, adding that the contract was clinched in a competitive open tender exercise.

In addition, RWT won a RM2.25 mil contract from the Melaka government through the Melaka Water Regulatory Body to supply five potable water treatment plants to the state.

Ranhill said the one-month contract would be completed by March 27. – March 3, 2020, Bernama
