THE Health Ministry (MOH) has reported 15,764 COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the cumulative total to 1,146,186.
In a tweet, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also reported that 11,767 patients have recovered from the infection, with the total discharged now stands at 937,732.
Currently, there are 199,051 active cases, in which 1,063 patients are still in receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU), with 532 of them in need of ventilator support.
Dr Noor Hisham also announced that 219 people have succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of fatalities to 9,403.
Selangor continues to record the highest number of cases (6,067), followed by Kuala Lumpur (1,536), Johor (1,222) and Sabah (1,166). – Aug 2, 2021
