Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Special Functions) Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof has quashed rumours that he is quitting his post.
“I’d like to stress that it is not true (resignation). I will continue to work with the Cabinet under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin. I’m not resigning,” he said in a statement today.
He also lauded the Muhyiddin government for its deft handling of the country amid the Covid-19 crisis.
Rumours of Redzuan, who is also Alor Gajah MP, resigning were triggered after Sri Gading MP and party colleague Shahruddin Md Salleh resigned as deputy works minister yesterday.
Shahruddin has said that his resignation is not tantamount to switching sides to the opposition and former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
“I remain seated in the PN backbencher’s seat,” he said in a letter yesterday. – June 5, 2020
