PRIME Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim hosted a Malaysia Madani Aidilfitri Open House at Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium in Kelantan on May 12.
A massive crowd greeted Anwar on his arrival with Reformasi chants. This begs the question of whether the Anwar effect was felt in Kota Bharu.
Ramai je sebenarnya org kelantan yg sokong PH. Cuma mungkin tak begitu nampak. Tapi bila first time buat event mcm ni nampak mcm mana ramainya org yg dtg kerumun nak salam PMX. Bukan sekadar nak makan je https://t.co/sdsFo3q6ny

Sources claimed the event drew 15,000 visitors who were excited to meet, greet and take photos with the Prime Minister.
Other figures like Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof were present at the event.
Attendees also got to mingle with several Cabinet ministers, including Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil, Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad and Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob.
Anwar yesterday (May 12) made it clear in his message in Kelantan. He promised to work with the Kelantan state government to fix their water woes.
The Tambun MP said he discussed the matter with the Sultan of Kelantan in an audience. After that, he informed the crowd at the dinner that he wants to meet with the Kelantan government officials to help them fix the water woes in the state.
An offer that the Kelantan state government cannot refuse given the fact that PAS Tuan Man Tuan Ibrahim had called on Anwar’s government to grant the state RM1 bil to start a massive fixing plan.
“The Federal Government will implement a complete Clean Water Supply Project for the state of Kelantan with the cooperation of the state government,” said Anwar in the Prime Minister’s special announcement for Kelantan.
Nevertheless, a video shared many times on Twitter shows a rare scene in Kelantan. It showed young people, men and women, chanting the call for reform with the reformasi shouts in Kelantan.
This is where the PAS has reigned for decades, defeating all the UMNO leaders who challenged their reign.
Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad never defeated the PAS in Kelantan. Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s Bossku also failed to gain traction. The Islamic-leaning Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi also failed to draw attention.
However, this group of Kelantan youth promises to bring about changes in the voting pattern in Kelantan this year when the state holds the state elections.
