WITH the event organiser of the Prime Minister’s 100-days report card event being slapped with a RM1,000 fine, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin took to social media to express his regret over the matter.
However, netizens took to social media to hurl brickbats at the Rembau MP for seemingly “playing innocent” over the matter.
Netizen Calvin retorted:
(He advises people to avoid crowded areas, and he himself disregarded it)
During the event, thousands of people thronged the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre with many media personnel and attendees found physical distancing and face mask rules being openly flouted.
On the first day of the event, the media failed to get reactions from Khairy on the SOP violations, who was also present at the venue.
Save it, KJ
Earlier netizens also decried the double standard practiced by the authorities, where the KLCC event organiser was only fined for RM1,000 while entertainment outlets raided by the police on the same day were slapped with compounds running into tens of thousands.
Unimpressed with Khairy’s “regret”, user Harian Becok posed four questions to the former on the matter.
On that note, user House of Dio issued a sharp rebuke to Khairy saying: “Sums up your ability to see ahead…keep your apologies in your pocket.” – Dec 11, 2021
