THE Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah will be meeting other Malay rulers at a special gathering at Istana Negara tomorrow (Nov 24).
The Star reported that His Majesty will be seeking the opinions of the rulers on the ongoing impasse in the formation of a federal government following the 15th general election (GE15).
The meeting will begin at 10.30am and it is expected to last at least three hours, and according to palace sources, the special meeting would be crucial.
The Yang Dipertuan Agong has been trying to put up a unity government comprising Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Perikatan Nasional (PN).
PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin had, however, rejected the proposal as this go against the coalition’s stance on the matter. – Nov 23, 2022
