Report: Alpha Ambulance stopped to avoid collision with PM’s convoy!

THE ambulance belonging to Alpha Ambulance was stopped to give way to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob’s convoy, said a source according to a report by Malaysiakini.

An enforcement source stated that the ambulance was stopped as the prime minister’s convoy, travelling from the Taman Tasek direction after launching the Jelajah Aspirasi Keluarga Malaysia roadshow at Plaza Angsana in Johor Bahru, had merged into the main road ahead from a flyover on the left at high speed.

“If the ambulance was allowed to proceed, it may risk collision with the convoy. However, the ambulance was given priority above other vehicles and allowed to proceed first when the path was clear,” the report noted.

Yesterday, FocusM sighted a viral video showing an ambulance being stopped by traffic policemen on March 5.

In a 45 seconds video posted yesterday, the ambulance was seen being stopped by two traffic officers despite their sirens being turned on.

Netizens vented their frustration over the matter on social media and questioned why the officers had to stop the ambulance from proceeding.

This was not the first time Ismail Sabri’s convoy courted controversy as in December last year, traffic officers were seen stopping an ambulance in Hulu Langat for the former to pass first.

Meanwhile, Malaysiakini reported Johor police chief Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat as saying that the Johor Bahru Utara district police headquarters would issue an official statement on the matter soon. – March 8, 2022.
