FORMER Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is scheduled to inaugurate the 2021 World Chinese Economic Forum (WCEF).
According to The Vibes, Najib will not only deliver its keynote address but also attend the gala dinner and award ceremony as part of the event, which is hosted by Malaysia at the Sheraton Hotel in Petaling Jaya tomorrow.
His opening speech is entitled, “Building a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind”.
On December 8, the Court of Appeal upheld the High Court ruling that Najib was guilty of corruption charges involving SRC International Sdn Bhd funds worth RM42 mil.
In a harsh criticism against the ex-premier, Justice Datuk Abdul Karim Abdul Jalil remarked that “there is no national interest here, just a national embarrassment”.
WCEF is a yearly one-day event which organised to discuss the world’s future, with China leading the way.
This year’s event will see 250 delegates comprising Government leaders, industry personalities and budding entrepreneurs discussing economic issues pertaining to the rising superpower.
Besides a session on the topic of employing multilateralism when tackling global crises, the occasion will also include discussions on China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). – Dec 26, 2021.
