Report: PM to reveal deputy minister line-up tonight

PRIME Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced that he will be announcing the line-up of deputy ministers tonight.

Anwar, who is the Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman, said the announcement will be made after his audience with Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.

“I will have an audience with His Majesty this evening and God willing, at 8.15pm, I will announce the names of the deputy ministers,” he told reporters after completing his Friday prayers at Masjid Jamek Kg Baru earlier today.

He was accompanied by Umno’s Titiwangsa MP Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani and Religious Affairs Minister Datuk Mohd Na’im Mokhtar.

On Dec 2, Anwar announced the names of 28 Cabinet members with full ministerships, with the appointed leaders taking their oath of office before the Agong the following day.

The Cabinet comprises members from Pakatan Harapan (15 ministers) through PKR, DAP, Amanah and UPKO; Barisan Nasional (six) through UMNO; Gabungan Parti Sarawak (five) through PBB, PRS and PDP; and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (one) through Sabah Bersatu.

Berita Harian previously reported that 35 names are put forward as deputy ministers, encompassing MPs from PH, Barisan Nasional (BN), GPS, GRS and Warisan, among others. – Dec 9, 2022
