ENGINEERING firm Kumpulan Ikram Sdn Bhd and the Public Works Department (WPD) have found signs indicating that the Seri Duta 1 Condominium and its adjacent area owned by the Federal Land Commission are unsafe for occupation.
According to Malaysiakini, the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) had engaged Ikram’s expertise to conduct a study on the slope involved in the properties and has produced a preliminary report.
It seems that Seri Duta 1 management has appointed an engineering consultant to repair the building foundation and slope and Ikram will be providing feedback on the plan soon.
“At the same time, Ikram will monitor soil movements in the area closely,” DBKL was reported as saying.
Seri Duta 1 is a low-density apartment located in the leafy and upmarket area of Bukit Tunku, near the Parliament building.
Recently, its residents were evacuated following a landslide at the base of several of its apartment blocks.
This was the third high-rise residential building to be evacuated over the past week following the massive floods in the Klang Valley last week.
On Dec 21, residents of the Indahria Apartment in Shah Alam and Bangsar Indah condominium were evacuated after the premises were found structurally unsafe. – Dec 27, 2021
