THE Teratai Apartment in Bandar Baru Selayang, Selangor, has been evacuated following a landslide nearby, making it the fourth high-rise building in the Klang Valley affected in two weeks due to the monsoon season.
According to Malaysiakini, the Selayang Municipal Council (MPS) found the building structure to be unsafe after cracks emerged following a landslide on Dec 18.
During a visit on Dec 30, Selangor menteri besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari stated that repairs may cost up to RM1.5 mil.
On Dec 21, residents of Indahria Apartment in Shah Alam were evacuated after the premises were deemed structurally unsafe after floodwaters submerged its foundation.
On Dec 26, residents of Sri Duta 1 in Kuala Lumpur were evacuated after a landslide occurred near the base of the apartment blocks. Later, Bangsar Indah Condominium residents were also evacuated for the same reason. – Jan 1, 2021.
