Rest assured, all Top Glove staff will get the vaccinations once it’s available

IN attempts to make sure that production lines continue to run without any hiccups, Top Glove announced that it will vaccinate all of its staffs once the COVID-19 vaccines are made available.

With an estimation that the vaccines will arrive on local shores around the end of February to early March this year, Top Glove ensures that foreign workers will get the vaccinations too.

Its executive chairman Tan Sri Dr Lim Wee Chai said: “We are still waiting for the vaccine from the government and we will be more than happy to get our staff vaccinated as we have over 21,000 employees at 47 factories and 750 production lines as at December 2020.”

Following the spotlight that the company has been receiving in the last several months, Lim also mentioned that Top Glove has been enhancing the welfare of its foreign workers and are continuously investing in providing them with better accommodations at its facilities in Selangor, Perak, Kedah, Negeri Sembilan, Kelantan and Johor.

The capital expenditure allocated for that, he said, is RM195 mil.

“We are building and purchasing new workers’ hostels, fully equipped with facilities and amenities that are expected to be completed by 2023,” he added. – Jan 29, 2021
