Ridhuan Tee: “Nga deserves tight slap for telling K’tan to seek Guanyin’s help to pay civil servants”

PERHAPS DAP’s top brass should start minding their language given it is no longer save for them to mumble something sensitive in Mandarin and expect that to stay within the confines of their Chinese audience.

Given Chinese education is no longer privy to Chinese pupils, they must not throw caution to the wind in that today’s Malays or Indians can be as versatile in their command of Mandarin and would have no qualms ‘to leak’ especially undesirable Mandarin content with their community.

Beyond that DAP cannot take for granted that every Chinese Malaysian is a loyalist to the party for some can be aligned to the opposition faction.

A case in point is how controversial Muslim convert preacher Ridhuan Tee Abdullah hit out at National DAP deputy chairman Nga Kor Ming for urging the Kelantan state government to seek blessing of the Goddess of Mercy a.k.a. Guanyin to pay wages of its civil servants.

Describing such call as “not supposed to have come out from a Cabinet minister’s mouth”, the former Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) professor contended that the Housing and Local Government deserved “a tight slap for his extreme, barbaric and inappropriate statement”.

@ppim.official @NGO TV CHANNEL

Editor’s Note: The Kelantan state government’s financial capacity to pay wages for its civil servants has historically been strained. To ensure these workers get paid, the state has frequently depended on deficit grants and advance loans from the Federal government.

Describing Nga’s alleged statement as an insult to Muslims, the Muafakat Nasional (an alliance of PAS-UMNO to foster Muslim ummah) deputy president further rallied Muslims, especially in Kelantan, to file a police report so that an investigation can be conducted into the alleged statement.

In this regard, he urged the authorities to conduct an investigation and take action against Nga Kor Ming if the statement is found to be true given it has the potential to breach 3R issue (race, religion and royal institution) sensitivities.

Previously, a video of Nga Kor Ming’s political speech translated into Malay by Madanii critic Datuk Albert Tei Jiann Cheing – the businessman at the centre of the high-profile Sabah mining license corruption case – has gone viral among his predominantly opposition-slant fanbase.

Subsequent to that, Tei who has since been a DAP ‘basher’ has further lodged a police report against the Teluk Intan MP over his statement “which is insulting, provocative, incite hatred and trample on the dignity of Muslims”.

“I call on the public to file a police report against this evil person. SAY NO TO RELIGIOUS SENTIMENT POLITICS.”

The bottom-line as one commenter aptly put it, “should Nga wishes to condemn Muslims or Malays, he should speak the Orc a.k.a. Lord of the Ring language”.

“He must have forgotten that many Malays and Indians have learned Mandarin, even my own brother understands Cantonese and is proficient in Hokkien,” chided the netizen.

That aside, Nga’s purported slip of the tongue has surely given the opposition bullets to shoot back at DAP as a “racist party”.

For starters, one commenter urged PAS to initiate legal; action against Nga to curb his tendency of making statements that border 3R. – July 8, 2026
