IF there is one thing Malaysian politics has demonstrated lately, it is that solidarity apparently comes with a bank account number.
Just days after UMNO launched a solidarity fund to help former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak settle a RM50 mil fine, one netizen came up with the next logical fundraising opportunity, for Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor.
Because why stop at one?

The social media suggestion, or sarcasm, is aimed at helping Rosmah deal with the latest financial headache arising from her long-running jewellery dispute with Lebanese jeweller Global Royalty Trading SAL.
The proposed Rosmah version, however, would need a considerably larger target.
To recap, the High Court on June 10 ordered Rosmah to pay RM67.5 mil to Global Royalty within a month after ruling that she was responsible for the loss of 43 of 44 pieces of jewellery allegedly in her possession.
The Court of Appeal later unanimously dismissed Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor’s application for an unconditional stay pending her appeal against the RM67.5 mil judgment involving those missing jewellery pieces.
“If we need to open a donation drive for every case, how many billions will be needed?” netizen @TokJoghoo inquired in the comment section.
Then there was @nickfcng suggesting that people donate one sen only. Also, @MazlinaTahir wondered where all the Arab donors have disappeared to.

Also, @moshhiiii made a strong allegation about Rosmah, adding that people shouldn’t help thieves.
But @ElHumaira88 claimed that Rosmah has been turned into campaign material since the general election is approaching.
“Come on, remember Kak Mah’s contributions,” added @BuzzAbdl.
Away from the biting comment section, Rosmah’s substantive appeal against the High Court judgment is scheduled to be heard on March 25, 2027.
For now, however, there is no Rosmah solidarity fund. At least not yet. But if one does appear, Malaysians may want to keep their wallets handy.
If the Najib fund needs RM50 mil and the Rosmah case involves RM67.5 mil, then both husband and wife will need a whopping RM117.5 mil. Now that is a real power couple.
