MARKET with Home-Grown Talent Malaysia has taken a significant step forward in cementing its position as a worldwide hub for world-class cyber technology with the debut of V-DARK, a cyber intelligence solution developed by Velum Labs Sdn Bhd, Sapura Group’s cyber security unit.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim officiated the launch at the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition 2023 (LIMA 2023).
Moreover, critical players in industries like commercial banking, defence, insurance, aviation, energy and telecommunications can use V-DARK to strengthen their cyber resilience.
V-DARK is designed to counter cyber threats posed by advanced persistent threat (APT) groups, organised financial crime syndicates and other adversarial targeting enterprises.
“The launch of ‘V-DARK’ by Velum Labs at this global industry event showcases Malaysia’s home-grown capabilities consisting of a talented team of engineers and experts in delivering cutting-edge cyber solutions,” said Sapura president and Group CEO Tan Sri Shahril Shamsuddin.
“At Velum Labs, we are engaging with worldwide engineering firms utilising top technology to enable strategic two-way knowledge transfer in building the necessary know-how and skill set in cyber-attack methodologies.”
According to Shahril, in doing so, they are able to facilitate home-grown R&D and develop next-generation cyber intelligence and cyber security solutions not only for Malaysia but for other sovereign nations.
Moreover, Revolutionising Malaysia’s Cyber and Military Capabilities for the Digital Age is the theme of the current LIMA 2023 exhibit by Velum Labs and Sapura, which features homegrown innovations.
LIMA 2023 marks its largest exhibition to date, featuring more than 600 exhibitors from 20 countries, including global industry players from the People’s Republic of China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, the Netherlands, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Turkey, the UK, the US and the UAE.
