Sarawak DCM James Masing dies due to COVID-19 related ailment

SARAWAK Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri James Jemut Masing passed away early morning due to COVID-19 related complications. He was 72 and has been fully vaccinated.

According to the Borneo Post, Masing was warded at the Sarawak General Hospital on Sept 28, subsequently placed under intensive care unit.

On that day he was admitted, the veteran politician wrote on Facebook that he was diagnosed under Category 3.
Later on, Masing was transferred to Normah Medical Centre last week and breathed his last at about 7am today.

Born on March 5, 1949, Masing had served as Baleh state assemblyperson for eight terms since 1983.
He started his political career with Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak, before establishing Parti Rakyat Sarawak in 2004 and had helmed it since then.

On May 31, Masing’s brother, Jantai Masing also passed away due to COVID-19 related complications. – Oct 31, 2021.
