FOLLOWING his release from detention this morning, satirist Fahmi Reza poked fun at his run-ins with the cops at the Dangi Wangi district police headquarters, citing the “hotel” provides “quality service”.
(I have checked out from “Hotel Dangi Wangi”. A two-days one-night vacation courtesy of Mojo Jojo. Great location, perfect vibes and amazing hospitality. The food was tasty. I even got complimentary sahur and iftar meals sent to my room. Would love to return in the future. I give it four star ratings!)
Yesterday, the famed satirist was arrested by the police for investigation under Sedition Act over his satirical drawing of ape donning royal regalia.
“The police confiscated a mobile phone and SIM card for investigation purposes. They will be applying for a remand order tomorrow,” his lawyer Rajsurian Pillai was reported as saying.
Fahmi is also being investigated under the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
The lawyer said police were investigating Fahmi under the Sedition Act as well as the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 (CMA).
Mojo Jojo is an ape-like villain character from the popular cartoon, The Powerpuff Girls.
Following his tongue-in-cheek comments, netizens also joined the fun and asked Fahmi to elaborate further on his “vacation”.
(If we want to check in, do we need to make prior booking or just walk-in? Do they have windows in their rooms?)
