Say goodbye to Mat Rempit, because Mat Luncur is the new thing

AND when we thought the massive Mat Rempit convoy that rode against the traffic at the Bagan highway was terrible enough, here comes another incident to prove that Malaysians can raise the bars of audacity.

But for the next level, it appears that a motorcycle is no longer enough.

Seen in this video on X by Sinar Harian, a daredevil skateboarder could be on his back, hogging the middle of the road as he went downhill, oblivious to the car right behind him.

At least the car driver was good natured enough to accommodate his irresponsible behaviour. Either that or the driver was frightened into submission to witness such a reckless act.

It would appear that our Mat Rempits are evolving into the next level, Mat Luncur.

According to Sinar Harian the police is appealing to people to come forward with information with regards to the Mat Luncur at Jalan Tun Sardon, Balik Pulau to assist with the investigation.

Although our fellow netizens may not possess the necessary information for the police, that does not stop them from giving out their hilarious opinions regarding the subject.

Netizen Aveen vijay said Malaysians should start polishing our gold medals now if Mat Luncur should participate in the paralympics.

At the moment Mat Luncur appears to be healthy in body if not mind.

However, we suppose if Mat Luncur continues doing what he is doing, he will soon qualify to enter the paralympics.

If there was a contest for the winning comment, Netizen Amirul Azman probably wins it with his photo.

Apparently, there was another Mat Luncur at Kuala Kubu Bahru as pointed out by netizen jeeva_bunyi_loceng.

Is that the same person or another fellow daredevil looking for the means to qualify for the paralympics?

Although the antics of these Mat Luncur may seem entertaining on hind sight, we must also remember that such acts may spark imitators among children or teens.

For the perpetrators, they should be mindful that their actions may influence others, indirectly causing deaths and injuries on the road.

To the Mat Luncurs, we say, there are a number of well-maintained skateboarding parks in Malaysia that do not come with vehicular traffic. – Sept 9, 2024
