SCIB secures a RM63.91 mil EPCC contract for a 35-storey service apartment

SARAWAK Consolidated Industries Bhd (SCIB), though its subsidiary SCIB Industrialised Building Systems Sdn Bhd, has accepted a letter of award (LOA) from Twinwood Development Sdn Bhd for an engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) contract.

Valued at an estimate of RM63.91 mil, the contract is for the proposed construction of a 35-storey service apartment located Mukim Petaling, Kuala Lumpur.

The service apartment will comprise 332 units and eight levels of podium parking space, with one level dedicated for facilities, 26 floors of service apartments and a one-storey basement partial parking space.

The project is expected to have a duration of 20 months starting Dec 5, 2021.

“The project gave us the momentum we needed to continue our expansion into Peninsular Malaysia, despite the setback of us having to terminating the contracts for our Middle East projects,” SCIB group managing director and CEO Roslan Othman pointed out.

He also mentioned that the company will be adopting 3D technology in efforts to efficiently complete its projects in a shorter time frame without having to sacrifice the quality of building materials.

“Concerning our recent stock trading suspension, we want to reassure all of our stakeholders, business partners, vendors and employees that we are working with our external auditor to expedite the finalisation of the audit of the financial statements, and we are targeting the annual report to be issued by December this year,” Rosland added. – Nov 11, 2021
