POPULAR cinema chain operator Tanjung Golden Village Cinemas (TGV) has apologised to its patrons following recent complaints claiming that a screening of The Batman was restarted 45 minutes after it began playing due to some “VIPs” arriving late.
“Upon thorough investigation of the incident for The Batman at TGV Vivacity we would like to clarify the reason for the delay,” TGV said in an official statement.
“The session delays were due to a technical issue at our IMAX hall and not due to late arrivals of VIPs as had been wrongly stated in some media.
“At no point has TGV issued a statement or official comment to any media outlet confirming this to be the cause of the delay.”

According to TGV, the morning and afternoon shows in IMAX on the same day were similarly delayed due to a technical issue and the team had acted swiftly to fix the technical issue and the 7.15 pm session was able to start on time.
“However, due to miscommunication some staff at the entrance presumed that the 7.15 pm show would also be delayed and at this time approximately 20% of the guests had already entered the hall while the remaining 80% were still waiting at the foyer and entered the hall after the movie had already commenced.”
TGV further acknowledged that the decision to stop and restart the movie had inconvenienced moviegoers and assured the public that they are taking “corrective measures to ensure this is not repeated”.
As a token of apology, TGV also said that all impacted guests were provided full refunds and two complimentary movie tickets.
“Once again we would like to assure everyone that the decision to restart the movie was not influenced by any VIP’s late arrival and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused,” they added. – March 7, 2022
