SEGi to provide free e-Revision Programme worth RM14 mil for SPM, UEC students

SEGi College Subang Jaya today announced a RM14 mil corporate social responsibility (CSR) contribution through e-Revision Programme for SPM and UEC students in Malaysia.

This programme is targeted to benefit 15,000 students who are facing various learning disruptions due to the pandemic and will be given free tuition classes from September to November.

With the COVID-19 pandemic affecting learning, students and lecturers have had to move their teaching and learning process online almost overnight.

“However, SEGi’s digitalisation efforts within the last six years have enabled us to move things online with ease,” said SEGi College Subang Jaya principal Calvin Chan Yee Yuen.

“Blackboard, our multimillion-dollar world class learning management system adopted in 2015, has allowed our students and lecturers to move their teaching and learning into the virtual world with very minimal disruption, and most importantly, with zero compromise on quality.”

Nine teachers with proven and solid track records in their respective fields have been selected to cover ten subjects in the e-Revision Programme.

For SPM students, 10,000 seats worth RM9 mil are opened to be filled and each student will be given free online tuition in Bahasa Melayu, English, Mathematics, Additional Mathematics and History for a three-month duration.

Meanwhile, 5,000 seats worth RM5 mil are available for UEC students to participate in two virtual intensive workshops focusing on answering techniques for UEC subjects including Chinese, Bahasa Melayu, English, Mathematics and Additional Mathematics.

“Over the last five years, SEGi College Subang Jaya has also contributed to other CSR initiatives that are in line with SEGi’s mission to place quality education within the reach of willing minds, and this programme is no exception,” said Chan. – Aug 26, 2021
