SELGATE Healthcare has collaborated with Kossan Group in the latter’s group-wide onsite COVID-19 vaccination programme which targets close to 5,000 local and foreign employees.
The exercise, which began yesterday, is the first onsite vaccination programme administered by the Selangor State Government’s vaccination programme, Vaksin Selangor (SelVAX).
“We have to work hand-in-hand as the Selvax Industry Programme is one of the crucial initiatives through the ring vaccination method to ensure Selangor and Malaysia as a whole could resume manufacturing operations normally again.
“The programme initiated by the Selangor state government is also an assurance that the safety of every individual is secured,” Selgate Corporation group CEO Noor Hisham Mohd Ghouth revealed.
Meanwhile, Kossan executive director Lawrence Lim said that the programme is part of its corporate responsibility initiatives to address the safety and health of its employees while minimising pandemic-related risks.
Lim, who is also the project director of the Kossan Vaccination Programme said, “This is indeed a milestone for us particularly in this time and season where initiatives such as this not only enhance the lives of our employees but is a testament of our commitment in ensuring workplace safety and health that leads to better productivity and continuity of the economies.”
According to him, large-scale programmes such as this are a catalyst for other employers to consider partnering with relevant healthcare service providers in the country’s effort in the COVID-19 preventive and control measures.
The Selangor state government had earlier on announced its Selvax implementation under two categories – SelVAX Community and SelVAX Industry – and has been accepted as one of the supporting programmes to the present National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) since June 2021.
SelVAX Community will see 500,000 doses of vaccine distributed for free to 250,000 people in Selangor who have yet to be vaccinated.
Meanwhile, SelVAX Industry is open on a voluntary basis to companies or industries that are willing to cover the cost to vaccinate their employees, with the aim of vaccinating one million employees and two million vaccine doses. – July 14, 2021
