Short-term rates to remain stable on Bank Negara Malaysia’s operations

SHORT-term rates are expected to remain stable today on Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) operations to absorb surplus liquidity from the financial system.

Today’s liquidity is estimated at RM34.14 bil in the conventional system and RM30.35 bil in Islamic funds.

The central bank will conduct three RM500 mil conventional money market tenders for seven, 14 days and 30 days, respectively, as well as Islamic range maturity auction Qard tenders of RM3 bil for seven days to 30 days.

It will also conduct RM1 bil reverse repo tender for 62 days.

At 4pm, BNM will conduct up to RM33.6 bil conventional overnight tender and RM27.4 bil for Murabahah overnight tender. – June 2, 2020, Bernama
