Short-term rates to remain stable on BNM’s operations

SHORT-term rates are expected to remain stable today on Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) operations to absorb surplus liquidity from the financial system.

Today’s liquidity is estimated at RM22.87 bil in the conventional system and RM11.76 bil in Islamic funds.

The central bank will conduct two conventional money market tenders of RM500 mil each for seven days and 14 days, respectively, as well as a RM515 mil reverse repo tender for 33 days.

BNM also will be issuing two qard tenders comprised of RM300 mil for seven days and RM200 mil for 14 days.

At 4pm, BNM will conduct up to RM22.4 bil for a conventional overnight tender and RM11.3 bil for a Murabahah overnight tender. – March 11, 2020, Bernama
