Short-term rates to remain stable on BNM’s operations

SHORT-term rates are expected to remain stable today on Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) operations to absorb surplus liquidity from the financial system.

Today’s liquidity is estimated at RM24.15 bil in the conventional system and RM11.91 bil in Islamic funds.

The central bank will conduct a conventional money market tender of RM500 mil for seven days, a Qard tender of RM300 mil for seven days and two reverse repo tenders comprising of RM1.31 bil for 31 days and RM400 mi for 92 days.

At 4pm, BNM will conduct up to RM25.4 bil for a conventional overnight tender and RM11.6 bil for a Murabahah overnight tender. – March 17, 2020, Bernama
