Short-term rates to remain stable on BNM’s operations

SHORT-term rates are expected to remain stable today on Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) operations to absorb surplus liquidity from the financial system.

Today’s liquidity is estimated at RM40.87 bil in the conventional system and RM25.87 bil in Islamic funds.

The central bank will conduct three conventional money market tenders of RM1 bil each for seven day, 14 days and 31 days, respectively.

BNM will also conduct two Qard tenders comprising RM1.4 bil for seven days and RM900 mil for 14 days. 

At 4pm, BNM will conduct up to RM38.9 bil conventional overnight tender and RM23.2 bil for Murabahah overnight tender. – May 15, 2020, Bernama
