Short-term rates to remain stable on BNM’s operations

SHORT-term rates are expected to remain stable today on Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) operations to absorb surplus liquidity from the financial system.

Today’s liquidity is estimated at RM50.60 bil in the conventional system and RM25.36 bil in Islamic funds.

The central bank will conduct four conventional money market tenders of RM2 bil for eight days, RM1 bil for 14 days, RM1 bil for 21 days and RM1 bil 31 days, respectively.

BNM will also conduct a RM5.6 bil Qard tender for eight to 31 days, as well as RM1 bil reverse repo tender for 62 days.

At 4pm, BNM will conduct up to RM46.6 bil conventional overnight tender and RM19.8 bil for Murabahah overnight tender. – May 19, 2020, Bernama
