Short-term rates to remain stable on BNM’s operations

SHORT-term rates are expected to remain stable today on Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) operations to absorb surplus liquidity from the financial system.

Today’s liquidity is estimated at RM48.72 bil in the conventional system and RM22.78 bil in Islamic funds.

The central bank will conduct a RM10 bil range maturity auction money market tender for two to 30 days, as well as two qard tenders of RM1.4 bil for seven days and RM2.5 bil for 14 days.

BNM will also conduct a RM1 bil reverse repo tender for eight to 93 days.

At 4pm, BNM will conduct up to RM39.7 bil conventional overnight tender and RM18.9 bil for Murabahah overnight tender. – May 20, 2020, Bernama
