Short-term rates to remain stable on BNM’s operations

SHORT-term rates are expected to remain stable today on Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) operations to absorb surplus liquidity from the financial system.

Today’s liquidity is estimated at RM35.20 bil in the conventional system and RM31.76 bil in Islamic funds.

The central bank will conduct a RM500 mil conventional money market tenders for eight, 14 days and 30 days, respectively, as well as Islamic range maturity auction Qard tenders of RM900 mil for eight days and RM2.8 bil for 14 days, respectively.

It will also conduct RM1 bil reverse repo tender for 30 days.

At 4pm, BNM will conduct up to RM34.7 bil conventional overnight tender and RM28.1 bil for Murabahah overnight tender. – June 1, 2020, Bernama
