MUDA president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman has steered his party into the opposition, attacking Pakatan Harapan (PH) on several fronts and preparing to contest against the ruling coalition in the next state elections.
However, Twitter users are urging the MUDA chief to quit as an MP and to prove that the ‘raykat’ supports them.
Since MUDA is now effectively an opp party (which I actl can respect):
I feel that both @SyedSaddiq and @_amiraaisya should resign and recontest.
Not due to Anti-Hopping. Technically no issue.
But I would respect more if they had guts to test their mandate from rakyat vs PH.

The tweet garnered 125,000 views and loads of comments but Twitter users are arguing with the original poster about the validity of his opinion.
“Again, I’m not saying there is technically anything wrong with them keeping their seats. For me, it’s more a question of sincerity. If you’ve decided (or forced) to be an opp party, be honest with yourself about whether your mandate would exist if not for PH, and prove it,” added the user.
Should Saddiq resign as an MP since he was elected with the backing of PH? That was the question after the latter started to attack PH openly.

Based on your logic, all PH-BN who won seats should all also resign and give up their seats since their campaigns were against each other which scammed voters into accepting it. Then we see if that’s what the rakyat wants on this “‘mandate”.

The latter is saying that PH was elected on a different platform and campaign than the Barisan Nasional (BN) but later formed a coalition with the UMNO-BN to gain power.
Moreover, user @nuar_lee added:

As a coalition with once a woke morality and integrity against penyamun, then abandoning it for power is a pure joke.
Maybe the upcoming PRN will be a test water.

Do you think if PH contest in MUAR and Puteri Wangsa they’ll win against MUDA/PN/BN? Imo PH would win Puteri wangsa but they’ll lose in MUAR if @SyedSaddiq on the other side. And how much MUDA contribute to the coalition in other seat might be small but affecting win in some seat
