“Slander against Sanusi is like digging your own graves,” warns PAS lawmaker

PAS Kedah Commissioner Datuk Ahmad Yahaya said that political slander directed against Kedah menteri besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor by ministers in the unity government is akin to “digging their own graves”.

According to Ahmad, slander after slander hurled at Sanusi were meant to tarnish the latter’s “excellent reputation”.

“Ironically, the opposite situation is happening. These slanderous allegations are only digging a deeper grave for Pakatan Harapan-Barisan Nasional (PH-BN).

“All accusations directed towards the leadership of the caretaker Kedah menteri besar have been promptly addressed, depicting the Madani government ministers’ lack of knowledge in administration,” he said in a statement on Facebook today (July 17).

Ahmad pointed out that all federal government ministries and the PH-BN leadership have been mobilised to tarnish Sanusi’s reputation, which is extremely tragic for the alliance since not only have their plans failed, but support for Sanusi is growing.

“The narrative of ‘Sanusi did nothing’ reveals the failure of the previous administration.

“PAS Kedah insists that the wave of people rejecting PH-BN, especially among the youngsters, is gaining more momentum and it is getting harder to contain.

“It is not impossible that PH-BN controlled states will eventually crumble and be taken over by Perikatan Nasional (PN),” the Poko Sena MP said.

Ahmad went on to say that the PH-BN’s ‘poster boy’ cannot match Sanusi’s aura, and that they are losing confidence in their own ‘poster boy’ to the point that all of their ministers have to travel to Kedah.

“Inshaa-Allah (God willing), the people in all six states, especially in Kedah, are ready to ensure that PH-BN will be defeated and Sanusi will lead this resurgence,” he added.

Sanusi, in a speech that went viral on social media last week on Wednesday (July 12), had allegedly touched on the Selangor ruler’s royal assent for the appointment of caretaker Selangor menteri besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari as menteri besar in 2018.

According to reports, Sanusi in his recent speech made a comparison between the Kedah and Selangor rulers in appointing Amirudin as menteri besar, whom he called “cokia” (low quality).

Several leaders in the unity government have since lambasted the incumbent Jeneri assemblyman’s remarks, among them Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzli, Selangor PH chairman Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, UMNO President Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi as well as Law and Institutional Reform Minister Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said.

On Thursday (June 13), Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said the police are investigating Sanusi for offences related to race, religion and royalty, better known as 3R, for allegedly insulting the Sultan of Selangor. – July 17, 2023
