SMTRACK Bhd has appointed Tunku Kamariah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Sultan Iskandar, the esteemed eldest sister of Johor ruler Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, as the company’s new non-executive chairman effective today (Nov 1).
According to a Bursa Malaysia filing by the radio frequency identification (RFID) solution specialist, Tunku Kamariah, 67, will replace Datuk Seri Shaharuddin Khalid, 63, who has been re-designated as president with effect from the same day.
“We are profoundly honoured to welcome Tunku Kamariah to SMTRACK as our chairman,” the company’s deputy executive chairman Datuk Azmi Osman pointed out in a media statement.
“Her esteemed presence not only strengthens our board’s leadership but symbolises a beacon of unity and progress for our organisation. We are enthusiastic about the new horizons we can explore under her guiding wisdom. Here’s to a prosperous and transformative journey ahead.”

Meanwhile, SMTrack’s executive director Datuk Zaidi Mat Isa @ Hashim described Tunku Kamariah’s appointment as “a testament to SMTRACK’s commitment to excellence and leadership”.

Apart from SMTrack, Tunku Kamariah is also currently the chairman of AHB Holdings Bhd (appointed on May 16 this year).
At the close of today’s market trading, SMTrack was unchanged at 3 sen with 625,200 shares traded, thus valuing the company at RM37 mil. – Nov 1, 2023
